Family Meetings

Ohana ( a word in Hawaiian Culture) means family..!!
A family is one place where our journey begins and throughout that journey love never ends...Family is our first school where we learn to stand, we learn to eat, we learn to share, we learn to care about each other unconditionally...But I feel there is always need of checking upon each other like "check-ups" on regular basis. I always love the idea of family meetings...Our family meetings would include the conversations about personal matters and work..the frustrations and some matters of concern which needs to be addressed. And when it's the night time we are mostly discussing what to eat or what new experiments to try.

My personal favourite is discussing our dreams and goals with them. Being open with them about my life..taking their suggestions, their advice, every time there is always something new you can learn from family and those are the lessons we never forget in life. Having this open communication with my family really helps me when I am alone stuck in some situation, I recall what I have been taught and it guides me through that difficult part.

The beauty of these family meeting is that we keep things "on the table" and not being swept under the rug. Hiding things, not discussing challenges and frustrations, not being open about the decisions made, not addressing our needs and wants, and simply ignoring things of importance will eventually hinder good communications and good relationships. It's just a simple way to connect with each other and do things that one might miss on a daily basis when life is moving at such a fast speed.

If you really want to stay connected and hear each other's hearts and give or take suggestions then you must learn to spend some quality time with your family. If you're the one in need of assistance, do not be afraid to reach out to family and friends..!!

As I live away from my family...I have made such friends which are equivalent to my family...they are my support system and I consider them as my "Small Family".

"Dear Diary" moment..❣

One thing which keeps on dragging my attention is our daily life rely on relationships we keep, the work we do and most importantly our health. Therefore, when something good or bad happens, it has a reverse effect. The way we tackle these good or extremely bad occurrences lasts a huge impact on everything else ahead in the routine. You know the switch between this positive and negative thinking, greatly impacts our personality too and is reflected in everything else we come across in life..!! Have you ever felt like you are not good enough? Or something keeps pulling you away. Honestly, I have experienced the same, I always used to feel I can never make it, Perhaps there might be a possibility that I could actually pass that but just the name of it will scare me badly that I would easily give up. There is the best example from school time, I used to take part in annual function dance competitions, But there was never a single time I did not get scared. Just a minute before going

Turning point..!!

My life has always been a dilemma between what I need and what I want..and realizing this concept was the turning point. I never wanted to become an Engineer for sure. A few years back, after completing my 12th there was this one question constantly hitting me, "What are you going to do with your life?" And when I tried to actually find answers for that I was left clueless! So I shared it with my friends and they didn't take me seriously..! One evening over dinner, As my brother just returned from his office, I told him everything going on in my mind and he kept his calm while listening to me...I gave so many options to him...I told him I want to go in the Forensic field, I want to be an interior designer. Lastly, when I stopped I told him I want to be a dancer..that's it that's the thing I want to do..it's my passion...I wanna follow my dream and blah blah blah just like one confused teenager girl I went on..He was still listening to my mess very serious
